01. ARCHITECTURE & BRIEF
Overview
Theodolite is my independent creative design and engineering agency. Built as a flagship showcase of modern web craft, it was my first deep exploration into Framer Motion for physics-based kinetic Bento grids and Lenis for buttery-smooth inertial scrolling. Inspired by leading UI layout movements, I engineered an interface where every motion and interaction serves a distinct purpose rather than pure decoration.
THE CHALLENGE
Orchestrating complex multi-card Bento layouts and spring physics animations across multiple viewports without causing layout jitter, scroll lag, or visual overwhelm.
THE SOLUTION
Architected a unified motion system using Framer Motion variants and layout animations paired with Lenis smooth scrolling. Designed purposeful interactive cards with micro-hover states, dark glassmorphism, and responsive grid choreography that captures attention and delivers high conversion.

Modular Kinetic Cards & UI Layout Exploration
Drawing inspiration from modern Bento grid design trends (such as ui-layouts.com), I designed each module to feel alive and tactile. Every card communicates a specific capability through subtle micro-animations that make logical sense to the user.
- Structured responsive CSS Grid and Flexbox layouts that adapt seamlessly from mobile to wide displays
- Engineered interactive hover triggers and card elevation states with zero layout shifting
- Balanced rich visual craft with strict functional legibility and content pacing
Mastering Physics-Based Motion & Inertial Scrolling
This was my milestone project mastering Framer Motion and Lenis Scroll together. By replacing default browser scrolling with Lenis inertial physics and driving card reveals via Framer Motion viewport triggers, the entire page feels cohesive, weightless, and premium.
- Integrated Lenis smooth scrolling for uniform 60+ FPS navigation across all browsers
